September 7, 2010 - Dog treats recalled by Hartz The Hartz Mountain Corporation is
voluntarily recalling 8-oz bags of Hartz Naturals Real Beef Treats for
Dogs, lot code BZ0969101E, UPC number 32700-11519, due to concerns that
one or more bags "may have been potentially contaminated with
Salmonella". Random sample testing by the FDA indicated the
presence of Salmonella. August 6, 2010 - 10 oz "Texas Hold'Ems" treat recalled Items # 60016 LOT #10084TL7 BEST BY MARCH 24, 2012 and #10127 BEST BY MAY 6, 2012 are recalled because of Salmonella contamination potential. You can become infected with Salmonella by handling the treats, especially if you have not thoroughly washed your hands after having contact with the chews or any surfaces exposed to these products. Dispose of these products by securing them in a covered trash receptacle. Pets with Salmonella infections may be lethargic and have diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. Some pets will have only decreased appetite, fever and abdominal pain. Infected but otherwise healthy pets can be carriers and infect other animals or humans. If your pet has consumed the
product and has these symptoms, please contact Dr. Sandy immediately. August 1, 2010 - Iams / Eukanuba recalled The FDA announced today the recall of all Iams Veterinary Dry Formulas and Eukanuba "Naturally Wild", "Pure" and "Custom Care Sensitive Skin" pet foods because of possible salmonella contamination. Iams canned and over-the-counter foods are not involved with this recall. Please discard the foods in this recall and thoroughly wash your hands after touching the containers.
